All City of Virginia Beach community recreation centers will close at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and remain closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday. City parks will be open from sunrise to noon on Dec. 24 and closed on Dec. 25. All recreation centers and parks will reopen with normal operating hours on Thursday, Dec. 26.

Marshview Park is home to 100 acres of wooded property on Lake Rudee in the Oceanfront area complete with bike trail system, dog park, asphalt trails, playgrounds, and more. The site is located between the neighborhoods of Lands End Condominiums, Salt Marsh Point, Seatack, and Shadowlawn and is open daily from dawn to dusk. The property offers unique cultural, recreational and environmental benefits and experiences to the city and its residents.
Parks & Recreation, in partnership with Eastern Virginia Mountain Biking Association (EVMA), developed the first-ever formal mountain biking trail system in Virginia Beach at Marshview Park. The project will enhance 4-5 miles of multi-use soft trails featuring varying lengths and skill levels along with trailhead maps, wayfinding signage, and mile markers to ensure safety for all visitors.
Some exciting changes are in the works for Marshview Park. The plan is based on the Marshview Master Plan and includes dog parks, paved trails, open field play areas, playgrounds, picnic shelters, parking areas, and a restroom building site. Marshview Park offers unique cultural, recreational, and environmental benefits and experiences to the city and its residents.
