    Enjoy the perks of our annual memberships by making a few smaller payments. These payment plans are available at no additional cost to you! To qualify for the "residents" rate, you must be a City of Virginia Beach resident.

    Payment Plan Requirements

    • A valid email address is required to communicate any payment and account-related issues, membership expiration, activities, and events.
    • Once a deposit is received, payments will be drafted from the credit card on file. If payment is declined, Recreation Center access will be suspended until payment is made current. Two consecutive missed payments without bringing your account current will terminate your membership without a refund.
    • Payment plan schedules can be found on your receipt and online account.

    • Membership is valid for one year from the initial purchase date.
    • Visit your account online using the same email address you provided at signup.
    • If it's your first time logging in or you have forgotten your password, select Forgot Password and follow the prompts to have credentials sent to you via email.
    • Manage the card used for payments by logging in to your account > My Account > Payment Details > select Change Auto-Charge Payments
    • To make additional payments, log in to your account > My Account > Payment Details > Pay on Account.

    Reduced Fee Membership Information

    Many of the programs and services may be important to you — and it may be stressful when your budget is tight. There is an option available that may help ease the financial burden by providing Virginia Beach residents with a 50% reduction in the annual membership fee for those who qualify. Please review the reduced fee application for eligibility details and application procedures.

    If you are a group retiree, or part of a Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, or American Specialty Health plan, you may be eligible for a recreation center membership at NO COST, which includes drop-in group fitness classes. Check your eligibility with the following providers:

    PeerFit Memberships

    Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation is now a PeerFit Fitness Partner! PeerFit is a corporate wellness program for participating employers and insurance carriers.

    Membership

    • Prospective 'PeerFitters' can use their Wellness Dollars toward the PeerFit membership.
    • Offers basic access to all seven rec centers, plus drop-in group fitness classes.
    • Membership is valid for 30 days and will automatically renew as long as you've used the facility at least one time in the 30 days.
    • PeerFitters will check in at the rec center on the PeerFit app to earn credit for your visit and remain eligible for renewal using your Wellness Dollars.
    • After your first check-in, you'll be prompted to check in via the PeerFit app at subsequent visits.

    When it seems like everyone on your list already has everything they need, think outside of the (gift) box and give the gift of an experience. Purchase gift cards online and in person, at your local rec center.

    Plus, they never expire! ​​Recipients can redeem gift cards online by entering the code in the 'Gift Card' box at checkout.

    Once you receive your email confirmation, add the recipient's name and gift card number to the customizable gift certificate to print or email to your recipient.

    FAQs

    Do you offer military discounts?​​​​​

    Military discounts are not provided; however, military members residing in Virginia Beach are eligible for the resident rate.​​​​​​

    How do I cancel my membership?

    To cancel a month-to-month recurring membership, email your request to fun@vbgov.com or call/visit any Recreation Center at least seven days prior to expiration. Month-to-month memberships with recurring monthly charges are considered legacy membership; once it is canceled they will not be available for reactivation.

    Auto-renewal for annual memberships may be canceled up to seven days prior to renewal.

    How old does a child need to be to utilize the recreation center without a parent?

    Youths ages nine and up may utilize the center without a parent present. Children age five and under must be directly supervised by a responsible person age 16​​ or older at all times. Youth ages 6-8 may participate during scheduled program hours until 8 p.m. as long as there is a person age 16 or older in the building who is responsible for them. After 8 p.m., all children under the age of 12 must be directly supervised by a responsible person age 16 or older.​

    What if I lose my membership card?

    Members are required to present their cards on each visit.​ If your card is lost, a replacement card can be made for $9.​
