Virginia Beach Recreation Centers offer great spaces at amazing rates! There are plenty of options to choose from such as rooms, gymnasiums, and pool rentals to meet a variety of needs.
With seven convenient locations throughout the city, affordable rates, and plenty of parking, a recreation center may be the ideal location for your next meeting, birthday party, team party, reception, shower, reunion, training, wedding, gym activity, religious service or other event. Party packages are also available.

$25-$39 per jour & per lane (3 lane maximum).
All rental fees are per hour. Increments of less than one hour will not be prorated. Hourly rental fees are applied to set-up time, event time, and clean-up time.
The renter may request the following: 6’ tables, card tables, trash cans, chairs, coat racks, and podiums. Subject to availability.
The provision of facility space does not entitle participants to free use of other recreation center program areas. A membership card or a daily pass must be purchased for use in the other areas of the rec center. Youth day passes are $8 each and adult day passes are $10 each.

- A rental contract, work order (if applicable), and full payment is required to complete a reservation.
- Facility usage and/or rental is only available during normal operating hours.
- Facility use requires a minimum of 24-hour advance notice, more time may be required depending on needs.
Pool Rental Information
- Liability insurance is required
- Exclusive use of the entire swimming facility is not permitted
- Lifeguard services appropriate to the number of participants shall be provided and are included in the rental fee
- Maximum of 12 swimmers for each 25-yard/meter lane
- Only participants are allowed in the pool area; spectators are not permitted on deck
- If applicable, the renter shall certify in writing that instructors are qualified with appropriate water safety certification
- If applicable, equipment must be cleaned prior to being placed in the pool (1/4 cup bleach to 1-gallon water solution may be required). City staff may inspect all equipment prior to use.
Pool Rules
- One parent in swim attire and in the water for every three children under the age of 9 is the required ratio
- Guests must be able to swim without assistance or the use of flotation devices when in the deep end
- Appropriate swim attire is required. Bathing suits and swim trunks. Athletic shorts and t-shirts are not permitted. Guests should bring their own towels.
- Inflatables and water toys are not permitted
- Coast Guard-approved life jackets for non-swimmers are recommended. Limited supply on-site. Children wearing an approved flotation device must remain within arm’s reach of a parent/guardian in the shallow end.
- Lockers are available free of charge
- Bags and personal items are not permitted on the pool deck
- The renter is responsible for damaged property
Rules
- All participants shall comply with all laws, ordinances, or regulations adopted or established by federal, state, or local governmental agencies or bodies, and all rules and regulations as provided by the Center
- Group representatives are responsible for the conduct of the group participants and the overall cleanliness of the room
- Approved facility/room capacity cannot be exceeded
- Groups composed of persons under the age of 21 without adult supervision are ineligible for facility rental. Renter must be 21 years of age and present for the duration of the rental period.
- Storing of materials in advance of rental must have prior approval
- All property and materials pertaining to the rental will be removed at the conclusion of the assigned used period
- The space will be free of trash and spillage - trash should be properly disposed of. City is not responsible for items left on the premises.
- The facilities are under video surveillance for security purposes. Parks and Recreation reserve the right to inspect the premises during usage
- Restitution may be required as a result of damage to City property
- The Department reserves the right to require liability insurance or security personnel
- Corporate users must be in good standing with the State Corporation Commission (SCC)
Prohibited Items & Activities
- Possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited
- All City buildings are smoke-free environments
- Soliciting funds and fundraising are not permitted on City property. No decorations shall be placed in or on any areas of the facility without approval prior to the date of rental.
- Posters, fliers, photos, and decorations may not be affixed to the walls, lights, ceilings, or doors. The Center reserves the right to remove all unauthorized materials
- No cooking, grilling, or frying of any kind is allowed. Burning candles and open flames are not permitted. Only birthday candles and Sterno cans for chafing dishes are allowed.
- Entry to reserved space prior to the scheduled time of use is not permitted
- Removal of City property from the buildings or premises is prohibited
- Amplified sound and/or live music is not permitted unless approved in advance
Refund/Cancellation Policy
Payment is due in full at the time of the reservation. Please make checks payable to the Treasurer, City of Virginia Beach. American Express or Discover cards are not accepted.
- Refunds are given within seven days of written notice of cancellation.
- Only dates are offered for cancellation requests made within seven days, with no refunds.
- Fees are not refunded for any missed rental days for rentals consisting of multiple dates.
- Fees will be issued for any time space is occupied past the agreed rental time, even if it's less than a one-hour increment. Payment for late exit is due immediately prior to leaving the facility..
