Kempes Landing Park was the home of Kempsville Pony Baseball for over 50 years. With the realignment of the intersection, Kempsville Pony Baseball was relocated to Providence Park, and the remaining land was redeveloped.
The three-acre area includes walking paths, a pedestrian bridge, a domed pavilion, and a "Good Game" statue to commemorate Kempsville Pony Baseball.
The park is also home to the “Friendship Anchor,” a gift from the Mariners Museum which honors the relationship between Virginia Beach and its Sister City, Olongapo, Philippines.
