It’s tough to balance your childcare needs with your work schedules. Parks & Recreation offers high-quality, affordable child care programs during the school year and summer.
April 14-18
6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
This exciting and educational spring break camp helps kids build safety awareness by teaching them how to recognize and respond to dangerous situations. They’ll meet firefighters, police officers, and other first responders while participating in hands-on demonstrations and activities.
Registration for the 2024/25 school year has passed. If you'd like to register your child for before/after school care for the 2024/25 school year, please complete the interest form.

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation has a 50+ year track record for providing safe, structured environments where children are surrounded and supported by adults who care about them.
Recreation is important for children to be their best selves, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our fun and educational activities stimulate the children and help them reach cognitive developmental milestones.
Our Before & After School programs and break camps operate exempt from licensure under state code §22.1-289.030. School year programs run concurrently with Virginia Beach City Public Schools operating calendar.
A Parks & Recreation reduced fee is applicable to our school-based camps and programs. Recreation Center-based camps and programs are not eligible. Children must meet the age and/or grade requirements to register and attend our school-age school year programs.
