Place your personal mark on Virginia Beach by sponsoring a tree in a designated park facility. With over 200 parks in our city, there are plenty of communal sites from which to choose. It’s an incredible opportunity to honor a loved one. The honorary plaque can express your commemoration and will be shared with the community for years to come.
Businesses also gain positive exposure for the company or organization by sponsoring a tree. The plaque can bear your business or organization name, address, and phone number. Those that pass by your tree will know you are dedicated to community improvement and will appreciate the shade.

New tree buddies are $749 and commemorative plaques on existing trees are $375. New Tree Buddies include your choice of tree, a spring or fall planting, and a plaque bearing your message. Choose from a selection of beautiful native trees (see options below) to place in our parks and other municipal properties. The tree will be in place and maintained for up to 10 years.
