Pungo Ferry Landing Park is a 20-acre park located at 2272-2290 Old Pungo Ferry Road on the North Landing River, a major leg of the Intracoastal Waterway. The land was purchased in 2015 through the city's Open Space Program which designates funding for the acquisition and development of properties for recreational use.
Pungo Ferry Landing Park is undergoing construction beginning in April 2026. Planned improvements include an expanded parking area, permanent restrooms, an ADA kayak launch, and additional picnic shelters.
The boat launch will remain open during construction, but parking will be limited. Munden Point Park Boat Launch is also free and provides access to the same waterway.
If the main parking lot for the Pungo Ferry Boat Launch is full, please park in designated areas only. Munden Point Park Boat Launch is also a free launch, onto the same waterway.
