May is National Bike Month, promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast.
All Virginia Beach community recreation centers, parks and park facilities will be open to the public on Monday, Feb. 16. However, all City of Virginia Beach administrative offices will be closed in observance of George Washington Day.

If you’re a high school student interested in planning improvements for walking, biking, running, and rolling in Virginia Beach, then consider applying for two positions on the City's Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC). Formerly the Bikeways & Trails Committee, ATAC meets at 3:30 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of most months and advises City Council. File a Student Talent Bank application with the City Clerk's Office to be considered.
