New Bench Buddies
New benches are not available for sponsorship at this time. However, you can still sponsor an existing bench.
Place your personal mark on Virginia Beach by sponsoring a park bench in a designated park facility. With over 200 parks in our city, there are plenty of communal sites from which to choose. It’s an incredible opportunity to honor a loved one. The honorary plaque can express your commemoration and will be shared with the community for years to come.
Businesses also gain positive exposure for the company or organization by sponsoring a park bench. The plaque can bear your business or organization name, address, and phone number. Those that sit on your park bench will know you are dedicated to community improvement and will appreciate the resting spot.
The seat and backrest of these six-foot-long benches are made of recycled plastic and the bench is surface mounted on a concrete slab to ensure longevity and no muddy feet. Please review the Memorial Plaque Guidelines. Benches and plaques will be maintained for a minimum of 10 years. At the end of 10 years, you will have the option to renew your patronage. There are numerous existing benches in the system waiting for a sponsor.
New benches are $1499 and existing benches are $499 (includes bench, installation, and dedication message).
