This 5-day camp is designed to bring out the inner beat maker artist within each camper. Campers will learn that you do not need to be a musical genius to be a good songwriter or artist – what you only need is an understanding of the creative process, knowledge of what makes beats work, and have a passion for creating music. Campers will learn the basics of beat-driven genres, audio recording, mixing, drum machines, sampling, and more. On the final day, campers will have the opportunity to visit a professional recording studio for a tour and to listen to their musical projects and beat creations.
Throughout the week, campers will create their own beats in various genres, including hip-hop, drum and bass, EDM, and pop, and will be given the opportunity to record them at the end of the camp.
The Teen Media Studio does not provide lunches or snacks during our summer camp programs. Please make sure that your camper brings a water bottle, lunch, and snack(s) each day (peanut-free food is highly recommended). Please note there is no microwave or fridge available for campers.
