City Sports League Information

Adult Softball Information

  • This league is recreational with no playoffs. A 1+1 home run limit is used (i.e. a team cannot hit its second home run until the opposing team has hit one).
  • Divisions offered: Men's Tuesday or Thursday, Coed Monday or Friday. When necessary, games may need to be rescheduled on alternate nights of play.
  • Divisional assignments will be made at the discretion of Sports Management.
  • Maximum number of teams per division is 16 with a 14-16 game guarantee.
  • Registration is taken on a team basis.
  • Online registration (for debit/credit card payments) is available on our website (during open registration).
  • In-person registration (for check/money order payments made payable to the Treasurer, City of Virginia Beach) is accepted at the Sports Management Office (4001 Dam Neck Road). Note: multiple checks (for one team) and cash payments are not accepted.
  • Team entry fee of $525 is due at time of registration.
  • Coaches should register their team, but players should not be added online until the Individual Player Registration period. During team registration, players who join the team online will be removed and must re-enroll during the Individual Player Registration period.
  • No Virginia Beach residency requirement.
  • Players must be at least 18 years old or be a high school graduate. Players under 18 years of age who are high school graduates or graduating high school seniors must provide written parental consent. Players under 18 years of age can only be added by submitting an adult softball add/release form with written parental consent attached.
  • Leagues are subject to close-out prior to the last day of signups. If you see “Only # spaces left. Register now!” under the “add to cart” link and/or “adding a team failed because it would exceed the maximum allowed” when creating your team, the activity is full. Please consider another option or contact the Sports Management Office to get on the waiting list.
  • Paper rosters and add/release forms will not be accepted by the Sports Management Office until after a division’s first day of play.
  • Individuals who are looking to join a team can contact the Sports Management Office for more information. Placement is not guaranteed.
  • No refund will be given if a team withdraws from the league after schedules are distributed. If a team withdraws from the league 7 days or more in advance of the league schedules being distributed, a full refund will be given. If a team withdraws fewer than 7 days before schedules are distributed, a 25% cancellation fee will be assessed.

  • Online player registration: Friday, March 7, 2025, 8 a.m. – Wednesday, March 26, 2025, 11:59 p.m.
  • Games start: Monday, March 31, 2025

Fall Season Information

  • Online team registration: Monday, July 7, 2025, 8 a.m. – Sunday, July 27, 2025, 11:59 p.m.
  • Online player registration: Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, 8 a.m. – Wednesday, Aug. 20, 202,5 11:59 p.m.
