Staffing Shortage

Due to continuing hiring challenges and staffing shortages being faced by Parks and Recreation, VB Public Schools, and the contracted basketball officials organization, Sports Management will only be able to offer a 10-12 (12U) basketball league for the winter season. Check with your area Recreation Association for additional registration details.

Registration Information

The season runs from January to mid-March. Player Registration is taken by individual recreation associations. See the recreation association information listed below.

Note: The player's age as of September 30 of the current year determines eligibility (see bylaws for further details).

League Information

The city is divided into 13 geographic areas for Parks and Recreation youth sports. Each area has a volunteer Area Chairperson and Community Recreation Association that organizes programs in conjunction with Sports Management. The city offers leagues for youth aged 10 through 18. Most

Recreation Associations offer 'Farm Leagues' for youth under age 10. Recreation Associations charge player registration fees. Fees and age groups vary by area.
High school varsity and junior varsity players are not eligible for the same community league sport.
